Remember the early 2000s neon craze? High-density addressable LEDs brought underglow back in a way that actually looks sleek when done right.
If you grew up watching Fast & Furious, you remember the neon green glow under street racers in the early 2000s. Then, for nearly a decade, underglow was labeled 'tacky' and vanished.
Fast forward to 2026: Underglow is back, and it looks vastly superior to anything from twenty years ago.
What changed?
1. COB & Addressable LED Technology: Old neon tubes were fragile glass that cracked on speed bumps and cast harsh spots. Today's Continuous COB (Chip-on-Board) LED strips emit a continuous, seamless beam of light with zero visible dots.
2. Concealed Flush Mounting: Modern shops tuck LED strips behind side skirts and under front splitters so the physical strip is 100% invisible. You only see the smooth ambient halo glowing on the asphalt.
3. Smartphone & Bluetooth Control: You can select solid white or warm amber for clean highway driving, and switch to dynamic colors when parked at car meets.
When installed cleanly with hidden wiring, underglow adds an incredible futuristic aesthetic to low-slung coupes and sedans.
