Every car guy knows the anxiety of handing over $4,000 for a full body wrap when you've only seen a 2-inch vinyl swatch. Here is why we built CarbonRender.
A few months back, I decided I wanted a clean matte black wrap for my Lexus SUV. Living in Toronto, I jumped online and started browsing local body shop websites across the GTA.
The problem hit me immediately: almost no body shop has a visualizer. You get to look at a 2-inch vinyl sample swatch or a thumbnail of someone else's car on Instagram, and then you're expected to drop $4,000+ and hope it turns out how you pictured it.
Waiting for email quotes took days, and I still had no idea how the final wrap would look on my specific vehicle trim with my exact wheels and stance.
So, I stayed up late one night and built CarbonRender.com. It started as a simple weekend hack: upload a photo of your car, select what modifications you want—whether it's a widebody kit, carbon fiber wing, new wheels, or a satin color swap—and let AI generate a photorealistic preview in seconds.
The response from the car community was insane. Over a weekend on Instagram (@carbon.render), thousands of enthusiasts started testing builds on their own daily drivers and project cars.
Visualizing your dream build before spending a single dollar isn't just convenient—it saves thousands of dollars in mod mistakes. That's why we're continuing to build out shop discovery and instant quote matching across Canada.
